Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?
Prompt Response: During the process of writing my figurative language, I’ve come to realize that I often tend to overthink my answers. While I strive for perfection and accuracy, I frequently opt for more abstract approaches rather than the straightforward ones. Unfortunately, this tendency leads to longer completion times for assignments and prompts. However, after overcoming this challenge of overthinking, I’ve discovered a newfound sense of creativity within myself. In a way, my overthinking has become both a blessing and a curse.
Summary: In today's class, we continue working on personal figurative language.
Reflection: Reflecting on this, my overthinking stems from my desire to produce the best possible work. While that’s commendable, I’ve come to realize that I must constantly work on reducing my overthinking to achieve perfection.
