Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?
Prompt Response: My mother, father, and I were driving through Atlanta when we stopped at a red light at an intersection. A homeless man was standing in the middle of the road, but not close enough to the cars to be hit. He approached every car that was near him with his sign in hand, begging for something, though I can’t recall what it was. He soon reached our vehicle and asked my father for something. My father immediately shooed away the man as if he were a stray dog, and the man went on his way.
Summary: In today's class, we started a story titled: "The Life You Save May Be Your Own" by Flannery O'Connor.
Reflection: Reflecting on that time, I did feel sorry for the homeless man. However, it’s important to remember that everything will eventually return to its rightful place.
