Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

Prompt Response:  I was younger when I had a picnic with my parents in the city of Atlanta. I don’t recall many details about the picnic, but I do remember the lush green of the trees and grass surrounding us. There was a certain peacefulness to the setting that I admired and could never forget. However, I was allergic to pollen, so I was constantly sneezing. My parents had to frantically get tissues because of how much I was sneezing. Despite that, the experience was very memorable because of the beauty of the park. Summary: Today in class, we started our Robert Frost One pager. Reflection: In short t his memory showed me that even imperfect moments can hold lasting beauty. Despite my allergies, I learned to appreciate the peace and joy found in simple experiences with family.

In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

Prompt Response:   In the summer of 2024, I had an internship job funded by the mayor called Chess and Community. During this internship, I would be working on robotics, coding, and chess. It was an incredible experience, but there was one person in my group who I found to be untrustworthy. Despite being the same height, I was only 15 years old, while he was 20. One day, he called me and asked for money, even though I had only known him for three weeks. Naturally, I refused, and he stopped talking to me afterward. This experience taught me that there will always be someone who appears trustworthy but is actually a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Summary: Today in class, we did a commonlit assignment based around the poem, "Mending wall" Reflection: In short t his experience taught me that trust should be earned, not given freely. It reminded me to stay cautious and recognize that some people may hide bad intentions behind friendly appearances.

Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Prompt Response:  When I was younger, I had a deep love for childhood toys like Beyblades, Pokémon cards, and Hot Wheels. However, as I grew up, that same joy I used to feel when playing with them has faded away. Back then, I often thought those specific joys and comforts would last forever, but I was obviously mistaken. Despite not enjoying the things I once did, I don’t regret it. We must get rid of the old to experience the new. Summary: Today we continued reading and analyzing Robert Frost's poetry. Reflection: In short  growing up can change what brings us happiness, even if we once thought those feelings would last forever. Letting go of old joys isn’t sad, it’s part of making room for new experiences and passions to shape who we become.

As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

Prompt Response: I would say that my favorite word is intelligence. Intelligence is subjective to many different things. It can apply to many different things, whether that being artificial intelligence, human intelligence, emotional intelligence, and so on. But just because a person cannot sufficiently complete a specific task doesn't make them unintelligent. Society makes our imperfections stick out like a sore thumb. They constantly bring it up and define us by our imperfections. We as humans even do that to ourselves, but as time goes on, you slowly start to realize that the world isn't as intrigued with you as you think it is. Summary: Today in class, we continued working on our Birches childhood presentation. Reflection: In short, I ntelligence comes in many forms and cannot be measured by a single standard. It also reminded me that our imperfections do not define us, and with time, we learn to care less about how others perceive us.

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response:  Imagination helps me cope with boredom by creating these short stories and scenarios in my mind. I can simply become and do anything. It especially comes in handy when I'm at school, but I have completed my work for the day, so I simply just daydream. Because my imagination is so vivid, and I can actually see what I'm imagining, it makes it all the more engaging. It helps take me away from the world and gives me something to do. Summary: Today we started and finished a readable assignment over the poem, "Birches" by Robert Frost. Reflection: In short,  Imagination allows me to turn ordinary moments into something meaningful and exciting. It keeps my mind active and helps me find joy even when there’s nothing else to do.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response: A particularly challenging time for me was when I underwent the removal of my four wisdom teeth. While I generally don’t mind dental visits, this particular situation was very difficult. During the procedure, the dentist administered a low dosage of anesthesia, which was insufficient to induce sleep but enough to numb the pain. However, the real issue arose from my deviated septum. This condition made it slightly more challenging to breathe out of my nose, as one nostril would occasionally close while the other remained open. Consequently, I had to rely heavily on my mouth for breathing. Despite this, the dentist advised me against breathing through my mouth to ensure that I could continue inhaling the anesthesia. The most frustrating aspect of the situation was the struggle to breathe through one nostril while simultaneously inhaling the anesthesia. Occasionally, during the tooth removal process, I would switch between breathing out of my nose and my mouth. Ultimately...

Write about what you did over the Fall Break.

Prompt Response: Over my fall break, I mostly didn't do much of anything. Despite staying home for most of my fall break, I'm still very grateful. The time I spent over this fall break was mostly with my family. However, one thing worth mentioning is near the end of fall break. Where me and my family and many other people gathered in a luxurious hotel and packaged food for the homeless. Summary: In today's class, we created a vocabulary lesson for comic strip, utilizing all 15 words. Reflection: Overall, I  Spent fall break mostly at home with family, including a memorable experience packaging food for the homeless at a hotel.

How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

Prompt Response:  To make the most of my day despite being busy, I divide my tasks into intervals. Based on my food intake, I set a timer for 30 minutes. During this time, I eat and scroll through social media. Afterward, I switch to work and take care of my responsibilities. By managing my time effectively, I can enjoy my day according to my preferences. Summary: Today in class, we finished our argumentative claim on the topic of morality. Reflection: Reflecting on this, I try my very best to manage my time accordingly, that way I can properly enjoy the things I have to do without hassle or wasting time. And if I unfortunately don't manage my time accordingly, I will miss out on what I have to do simply because I choose to do it first rather than making what is important a priority.

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Prompt Response:  When I was a sophomore in high school, my marketing principles teacher taught me a very a profound lesson: “People treat you the way they perceive you.” This principle resonates deeply with my daily life. I maintain professionalism at school, taking the time to think before speaking and ensuring my words are measured and precise to avoid any miscommunication. As a result, many students and teachers hold me in high regard, valuing me as a peer and a student. This is why I consistently strive to present myself in a professional light. Summary: Today in class, we started working on our argumentative essay with the theme of morality. Reflection: Reflecting on this, I will always make sure that no matter what no one views me as a failure or an incompetent person. I believe that every human should be controlled and measured when it comes to their speech.

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

Prompt Response:   I’m an introvert who thrives in solitude and quiet. Working alone allows me to focus and be productive without feeling lonely. Unfortunately, my parents, who want me to be more social, insist on forcing me to interact with others, even though I’m not interested. While I’ve become accustomed to social situations, I detested the fact that my parents made me do something I should have had the freedom to choose. Summary: Today in class, we delved into a story that explored the central theme of morality. Reflection: Reflecting on this, there are specific things that humans in general developed by themselves on their own time. It is not something that should be rushed or controlled just because another doesn't like it.

Write about a dream that felt real.

Prompt Response:  A dream that I’ve had in the past that felt incredibly real was my dream of falling. This dream has happened to me three times, and each time was as terrifying as the last. In the dream, I would be lying in my bed, peacefully sleeping, dreaming of myself sleeping in an empty room. Suddenly, the bed would vanish, and I would plummet into an endless abyss. When I hit the ground, my body would jolt me awake. Summary: Today we continued working on our writing assignment based off of an unpopular opinion. Reflection: Reflecting on this, I'm aware of many people around the world. I've had the same exact dream. I only wonder if it's a terrifying to them as it is for me.

Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

Prompt Response:  I’ve always been curious about how radio signals work. I know radio signals are crucial for modern communication, but I’ve never stopped to wonder how they function. Radio, frequencies, and wireless communication have been around for a long time, and these are just a few questions that have recently crossed my mind. I also wonder if there’s a limit to the number of radio frequencies we can create. But the most intriguing question is whether radio signals will ever truly last forever. Summary: Today in class, we worked on writing a draft for an argumentative essay. Reflection: In short, I find the intricacies of wireless communication genuinely fascinating. I almost questioned myself why I never bothered to ask that question.

Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt Response: The most memorable gift I ever received was my first Windows laptop. On my seventh birthday, I was given an HP Windows laptop that ran Windows 10 and had a built-in disc reader. Although the laptop was quite large due to the inclusion of the disc reader, I absolutely loved it. I would spend countless hours playing Roblox, watching YouTube, and Netflix on that laptop. Even before I got my first smartphone, that laptop was my first introduction to the world of technology. Summary: Today in class, we continued reviewing over the basics of how to create an argumentative essay. Reflection: In short, that laptop was the best gift I ever received. And it was my first wheel introduction into the world of technology, which also led to my passion for engineering.
